Tuesday Match Report

Gentlemen
We haven't had a match report for a few weeks so thought I better write up this weeks match.
Mellow Yellows
Fly like a butterfly and sting like a bee - its Roger T was head and shoulders above his team mates yet again. Scored some great goals from angles that I would not even try. Felt sorry that his hard work did not rub off on his team mates who relied too much on his fan dabby dossy skills! Roger is on holiday for a few weeks and there is no one who will be able to fit into those tinkle toe shoes of his - have a good break and see you on your return!
Ben - Hit the crossbar and thought the job was done. Lacked leadership skills to motivate and organise his team which was a shame. Eight unanswered goals would of had me shouting at the top of my voice for some energy, sparkle and more importantly some pride from my team!
Han the Man - Slowly getting his fitness back after a long break from the beautiful game. Scored some good goals though needs to pass that ball earlier. Some good saves in goal to keep the yellows in touch or there abouts!
Nathan - Unfortunately got injured with his first kick of the ball, put up a good display in goal. Would of been interesting had he been fully fit cus he is a useful player!
Brad - Seemed to get lost in the game and needed some leadership to motivate him. Bit off the pace after enjoying too many pints of Guinness in the Emerald Isle last week.

Wonderful Wicked Whites
Captain Unstoppable Daj - six weeks unbeaten, best run in Tuesday nite history! Some good saves in goal. Finally over the injury nightmare though still let in a trade mark own goal from Rashes back pass to give the yellows their first goal of the evening after some 20 mins. Showed some Roy Keane leadership qualities in motivating his team which was the difference on the night!
Ole Ed Gunner Glyn - showed that he may not have the legs no more but the head still works its tricks with faints and dribbling ability when we needed it most. Scored some important goals in the second half to keep the whites in the lead! Was his anniversary so deserves a round of applause for turning up.
Rash as you like - great energy and slowly learning the meaning of "passing"! Was a thorn in the yellows side all game and if he continues to listen can only get better!
Deadly Darryl - still nursing an injury but you would not of known it for his hard work. Scored some important goals, should of scored more but practice makes perfect. Ran out of steam towards the end but by then we had just about done enuff!
Dangerous Arms and Legs Roberts - showed that he still as plenty to offer. Some great work in the first half to help the whites to an unassailable lead then made the difference to the yellows and started their comeback! Watch out boys, Dave aint finished yet!
Baby Face Assassin Amin - must be the lucky charm ! After seven weeks of coming never tasted defeat! Some good work and great energy which makes him a good player to have on your side as well as lucky charm.

United Fans Really Dont........

Man Utd fans really dont live in or around Manchester, the reason I know ? I have just returned from Old Trafford when my beloved Aston Villa were playing this afternoon. On my way back from the game I was amazed to see just how many fans in red were travelling in the same direction as the coach that I was travelling on ! For many years it has been a long a long standing joke that the true fans of Manchester support City not United and you know what? it is so true.

Hundreds of red fans were going back down the M6 (south) towards the Midlands and maybe further afield, maybe even Exeter !!! . I just cannot understand people supporting teams just because they have won all the domestic trophies in the past and in recent years. You should support your local team, not just the team that are winning !!

I say you should be proud of your team and you should support them through thick and thin.

Radio WM

I was on lates friday evening at work , I stayed till 6pm cos none of my colleagues wanted to stay over ! and what a good job I did stay. As soon as the clock struck six pm I was out of the door and jumped into the car, now me being a footy nut I put the radio on and tuned into the friday night phone in on WM .Franksy the DJ asked people to name a leading goalscorer from last season in the Championship, now me being a bit of a stato I phoned up and guess what? Yes I got through straight away, gave my answer to the young lady on the other end she took my details and within seconds she called me back! "Hello Darryl" she said Im going to put you on the air, wahey I thought ! So friday night there I was sitting in traffic talking live on air to millions across the midlands about the Villa and the latest signing etc etc .And to top it all off I was called at 8pm to say that I had won a prize........................... watch this space to find out what I have won !
