Exhausted Pigeon

A strange thing happened on Saturday I got home from having a few hours out and went into the garden to my surprise there was a pigeon walking round, nothing strange there I guess but as the pigeon got nearer it didnt seem bothered that anyone was there, to my amazement it just stayed there without flying away. I could see it was tagged and presumed it would soon start to fly, but still it didnt! About twenty minutes later it was still walking round the garden looking quite happy to stay there so I offered it some water which it gladly accepted after about another hour I called Petsearch who advised me to get the tag number from around its foot, this may seem to be an easy thing to do, apart from the fact that the pigeon wanted to play chase me round the garden, so after ten minutes or so I managed to get hold of it and take a note of the number which I then gave to the lady at Petsearch. She then managed to track down the owner who lived on the south side of the city, i.e West Heath I made contact with someone who arranged collection on the understanding that we kept him for a few hours in a safe place, so I put him/her in the shed with water and rice crispies ! I have now made a friend for life in the form of a pigeon we will be writing to exchanging xmas cards and birthday cards from now on.
The pigeon has now been christened fred or freda as we dont know what it is!
